About Us

Hi, I’m Rachael and my soap making journey started back in the summer of 2018.  It was a rainy day during the Summer holidays and my children were desperate to make bath bombs. That got me thinking about soap.  I’m ashamed to say that before that I’d never really considered what went into soap. It’s just soap, right? But once I looked into it more carefully I was taken aback by the long list of chemical nasties that most of them contained.  I looked up some recipes online and realised it was possible to make really good quality soap without the need for additives or preservatives at all.

After a few months of trying out various soap recipes I struck upon a formulation that I loved! It was a combination of fine quality oils and butters that created a creamy, bubbly, long lasting bar.  Then the fun started..! I knew I wanted my bars to be coloured and scented, but I wanted to keep them as natural as possible. So, I started experimenting with natural ingredients, such as nettle leaf to achieve the lovely green colour in my peppermint soap and ground alkanet root to produce a vibrant purple in the lavender and rosemary soap. To scent the soaps it had to be essential oils all the way.  I tried various blends and my favourite combinations made their way into the soap collection.  And that’s it! These first bars went onto became my hand soap collection.

Since then the range has grown but the ethos remains the same.  All of my products are produced with the finest quality oils and butters, scented with essential oils and coloured with botanicals and clays.  They are always free from artificial preservatives, colourants, SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate), palm oil and plastic wrap.

I care deeply about the quality of ingredients that go into my skincare range and feel strongly that any packaging should be as environmentally friendly as possible. To that end there is no plastic wrapping on the soaps. The soaps are sold only with a small label detailing the ingredients.  Likewise my gift boxes are fully recyclable and the moisturiser bars are packaged in reusable beeswax wraps which can be composted once they have ended their useful life.

My aim has always been to produce fine luxury soaps and skincare products that are skin kind and as environmentally friendly as possible.  I hope you love them as much as I do.
