About us
Andy is a retired English teacher and writer, originally from Lancashire. Alison is an administrator born in Wharfedale, having spent a number of years living overseas.
We are based in beautiful Burley-in-Wharfedale in the heart of Yorkshire and never imagined in 2020 we would be selling candles and gift packs across the country and getting our story in the local papers. We have launched many new products and ranges since 2021, from the Ilkley Collection, Rainbow/Pride as well as an array of amazing new fragrances to choose from every month.
As a Cottage Industry, we want to support and celebrate our local community and source the best quality local materials wherever possible. We endeavour to use natural products, which are healthy for the environment as well as the consumer, vegan and cruelty free.
We hope you enjoy our candles as much as we enjoy making them. Keep an eye out for new products and announcements coming shortly.
Notes
Our story begins in April 2020. Lockdown gave us an opportunity to fulfil a shared ambition to create a business making candles. Our cottage industry is based in beautiful Burley-in-Wharfedale in the very heart of Yorkshire.
Out of lockdown, we also trade at York Shambles Market and Ilkley Real Food Market.

Sustainability
All our products are safe and non-toxic, vegan friendly and cruelty free.
We only source our materials and products from quality manufacturers in the UK.
Our wax is from a variety of natural and mineral waxes as well as soy.
The wicks are made purely of the highest-grade ring-spun cotton providing great burning results.
