About
I’m Lindsay, I created Walking Fit as a result of changes to my own lifestyle.
I love being active in the outdoors and have competed in triathlon and road bike racing. Fast forward a few years and whilst I no longer race I like to remain fit and active. An injury meant I needed to find an alternative to high impact exercise so I started fitness walking.
At first I didn’t think a fitness walk would tick the boxes, but I was wrong.
Walking can improve fitness by using the right pace, terrain and some imagination. I tested routes and shared ideas with friends and received such positive feedback it led to an absolute belief that this very affordable and accessible form of exercise could benefit other people for many different reasons. So, I qualified as a YMCA Level 2 walk leader and started Walking Fit.
Notes
Walking Fit classes are for adults and held in Menston and Burley-in-Wharfedale. I call the walks ‘classes’ because they are planned and structured to include specific sections of brisk and fast pace walking with varying routes to offer different levels of intensity.
If you are looking for motivation/inspiration, enjoy a social side to exercise and would like to try something a little different then why not try a Walking Fit class? It would be fantastic to meet you.
